RED RAG COLLECTIVE MEETING 107 Castle hill sun 5th may present, clive, John, guy apologies, nick, sue, james guy will check to make sure group N is getting through. More care must be taken about paid ads especially since money is so tight, in last issue 2 ads were missed out one for health watch £7.50 and one for Newtown £5; (monies are to be repaid to newtown) Also chase up outstanding depts for ads, John will check to see if RCU has paid. Clive will bill rccwt for video ad 2 things in last rag;- a very out of date distribution list was put on the front page, please check with guy in future, and an incorrect time was put down for the editorial meeting, don't assume, check. Mayday article and included graphic. There was a discussion and there are 2 replys in this rag, one from this meeting. Most of the rest of the meeting was taken up discussing what we like to call content. It was agreed that particularly at this time when money is short, people who write very long articles or articles that run for a number of issues should be prepared to be contacted about editing. The Rag needs the $$$$$$$$$$ co-operation and understanding of its contributers. As a guide 300 words was suggested as an optimum length for long articles (or about a coloumn). It was pointed out that each page costs about £15. There was also disscussion about a reply to nicks piece about spiritulism in last issue. This has been passed on to nick with the comment that theres probably no more repressive religion than one that doesn't allow other religious groups to meet in peace. thats all folks except to say that we need co-ordinators for rags on 8 and 22 June and 6 July. next collective mtg 4.00pm sun 16 June, 39 Coventry rd sorry about the typing love clive P.S. If you go to any gig or other function then have a collection for the rag its a quick and easy way to make a few quid for the best paper in the world. - - - $Id: //info.ravenbrook.com/user/ndl/readings-only-newspaper/minutes/1985/1985-05-05.txt#2 $
